With the weather comes the possibility of damaging winds and floods that could potentially harm your trees and damage your landscape. And of course, there are certain areas within Middle Tennessee that are much more susceptible to tree damage, so it’s important to be aware of your landscape and know who to call in case of an emergency. Here are only a few factors to consider during severe summer storms:

High-flood plains — Since the flooding in 2010, Nashvillians know how serious flooding can be and how it can harm trees and landscape. If you live in an area with high flood plains, it’s important to have regular tree care maintenance completed to avoid any potential disaster when a flood occurs.
Double trunks/old trees — Trees with multiple trunks or really old trees are very susceptible to severe storms. If you have one in your landscape, it’s a good idea to get an arborist to examine it for proper tree care.
Wooded areas — Trees in an open landscape such as a wooded area or lot can succumb to damage during storms. Straight-line winds or lightning are two possible issues.
